The offerings at the Sri Kallazhagar Temple near Melur in Madurai district was ₹46,43,452 in cash, 78 grams of gold, 155 grams of silver articles and a few foreign currency notes.
The counting was held at the temple’s Thirukalyana Mandapam under the supervision of temple Joint Commissioner Hariharan and Assistant Commissioner Prathiba of the Koodal Azhagar Temple in Madurai.
Temple staff and volunteers participated in the counting process.
The cash and valuables received as offerings were subsequently entered in the temple administration’s accounts.
