More than 3,000 people participated in a marathon organised by the Siska Youth Social Foundation and Jewel One in Coimbatore.
The marathon, titled ‘Fuel the Run, Fund the Future’, was held near the CODISSIA trade fair complex with the aim of building a stronger society through fitness and health awareness.
The event featured four categories — 21 km, 10 km, 5 km and 3 km races and athlete Dhanapal flagged off the event in front of the CODISSIA complex.
The participants, including boys and girls, men, women and senior citizens, took part in the various categories.
Dance performances were also organised to keep participants energised as runners from different age groups stepped in and enjoyed the event.
