Amid an elephant scare in Makkamoola village in the Nilgiris district, video footage from a CCTV camera captured some hilarious scenes of a wild elephant playing with a tyre outside a house.
The elephant spent a considerable amount of time kicking the tyre with its front and hind legs and tossing it into the air with its trunk.
Residents of Makkamoola have been living in fear as the elephant has been roaming the village for more than a month. Its frequent movement through the locality has made people reluctant to step out of their homes.
Residents have urged the Forest Department to use kumki or trained elephants to drive the tusker back into the surrounding forests.
