The Sadivayal elephant camp in the Boluvampatti forest range was opened to the public on Thursday, drawing visitors eager to see the elephants up close.
The initiative aims to raise awareness about wildlife among the public, particularly school and college students.
Visitors enjoyed watching the elephants at close quarters, observing their activities and feeding them. The experience delighted people of all ages, from children to adults.
The camp is intended to educate visitors about the importance of wildlife, the lives of elephants and the need to protect them.
The Forest Department has said that the public can visit the camp daily from 8.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. and from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m., subject to its rules and conditions.
The initiative has received a positive response for giving visitors an opportunity to observe elephants while learning about wildlife conservation.
