Special camps will be held across Thanjavur district on October 31 to enable eligible farmers to fully benefit from the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme and help beneficiaries whose instalments have been stopped for various reasons to rejoin the scheme.
As many as 3,084 farmer beneficiaries in the district have not linked their Aadhaar numbers with their bank accounts, while 1,348 beneficiaries have not completed e-KYC. Another 241 beneficiaries have neither linked their Aadhaar numbers nor completed e-KYC and are consequently unable to continue receiving the benefits under the scheme.
Eligible farmers have been urged to attend the special PM-KISAN camps being organised at the block level and rectify deficiencies in their records so that they can continue to receive the benefits.
The camps will be held at the offices of the Assistant Directors of Agriculture in the district, in coordination with the Agriculture, Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing and Revenue departments.
Farmers who have not linked their Aadhaar numbers with their bank accounts have been advised to approach their respective banks to complete the process. Those who have not completed e-KYC have been asked to approach the nearest Common Service Centre and complete the registration.
According to a press release issued by Thanjavur Collector R. Revathi, farmers have also been requested to make use of the camps to update any other missing details required under the scheme.
