Century Plyboards (India) Ltd has commissioned its new plyboard manufacturing plant at Hoshiarpur in Punjab and expects an annual revenue of Rs 350 crore from this facility.
The company has set up this plywood manufacturing facility with a capacity of 60,000 CBM (cubic metre) and an investment of Rs 180 crore."We have set up this greenfield plant which will primarily cater to North India," Century Plyboards Executive Director Nikita Bansal told PTI.
When asked about the revenue potential, Bansal said the company expects around Rs 350 crore annual revenue from this plant.
This is the company's seventh plywood manufacturing plant in India, adding to its existing manufacturing network across West Bengal, Guwahati, Chennai, Gujarat, Haryana and Uttarakhand.
Bansal said the company will expand the capacity from 60,000 CBM to 1 lakh CBM within the next six months.
"We have a total of a 27-acre land parcel. So, there is scope for expansion," she added.
The plant was inaugurated by the company's top management, including Sajjan Bhajanka, Chairman; Sanjay Agarwal, Managing Director; Keshav Bhajanka, Executive Director; and Nikita Bansal, Executive Director.
Bansal noted that the company has set up a plant at Hoshiarpur as it offers proximity to a well-established timber and plywood ecosystem, skilled manpower and efficient connectivity to major consumption centres.
"The commissioning of our Hoshiarpur facility is an important step in strengthening our manufacturing presence in North India and, more importantly, in advancing our pursuit of making uncompromising plywood," Bansal said.
"We have the flexibility to build capacity in line with market demand. At the same time, the focus is on getting the fundamentals right, with technology-led processes, operational efficiency, and consistent quality," she said.
The plant is also expected to generate substantial economic value for the region, creating more than 1,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities through manufacturing operations and allied sectors.
